  • There are three layers in the human eye called the outer, middle and inner layers. The outer layer is a white tough and opaque layer named the sclera and the middle is called the choroid.

  • The inner layer is called the retina which is the light-sensitive layer of the eye. The retina contains light and photoreceptors called cones and rods.

  • The receptors present in the retina convert the images perceived into electrical signals which get transmitted to brains via optic nerves.

Thus, the retina contains sensory receptors.
