 Lets take a small popcorn and call it 2s. 
                           medium popcorn = 3m. 
                                  large popcorn = 4l. 
So 2s + 3m + 4l = total sales. 
If 9p is the total number of popcorns sold, the equation is 
s + m + l = 9p
