The physical change is defined as the change in the state of a matter or phase. It does not create new materials. There occurs changes in the shape and size of the object but it results in no chemical reaction or generation of new substance.
Some of the examples of physical changes are as follows-
(1) Water changing its state from liquid to gas (vaporization) or from liquid to ice (freezing).
(2) Weathering of rocks as the rocks are broken down due to the physical process and where the broken rock fragments are carried from one place to another by the agents such as wind, water and ice.
(3) Dissolution of sugar and water molecules also is an example of physical change.
