So like, 
(1) 12.60 + 2.25 = 14.85
(2) 14.85 + 2.25 = 17.1
(3) 17.1 + 2.25 = 19.35
(4) 19.35 + 2.25 = 21.6
(5) 21.6 + 2.25 = 23.85 
So the total would be 5. Mario bought 5 magazines.
you subtract first 23.85-12.60=11.25. then 11.25/2.25=5. so the answer is Mario did 5 magazines.
