A student walks 1/4 Mile from her home to the store on her way to a friend's house at the store is one third of the wave to her friend's house how far is her friend's house from her home

Respuesta :

1/4-1/3= 1/12

u can do this by:-

Converting 1/4 to 3/12

and converting 1/3 to 4/12 since u need a common denominator to subtract. So 4/12- 3/12 = 1/12. Or there can be other methods to subtract by converting into a decimal and/or converting back into fraction. I was also confused in this problem but the store is not between its at the end. So, it was like this her own home and then her friend's home then the store.

The distance from her friend's house from her home

Fractions

They are written as the ratio of two integers a/b

A student walks 1/4 Mile from her home to the store, if on her way back, he walked one-third of her distance to her friend's place, then;

  • Distance from friend's house to her home = 1/3(1/4)
  • Distance from friend's house to her home = 1/12

Hence the distance from her friend's house from her home is 1/12 miles
