Answer: The pattern seen on the underwing is used as an ability to avoid observation or detection of predators and, also, of many small animals; since these animals hesitate moving near patters that matches predators’ eyes. Consequently, the owl butterflies are protected from all kids of animals. What is really good, due to these flying insects having a fragile body structure.
