Musculoskeletal sport injury refers to damage to muscular or skeletal system as a result of sport activities. An example of a musculoskeletal sport injury is fracture. Fracture can occur as a result of sporting activities, fall or auto accident. There are different types of fracture depending on the location and the severity of the fracture. The major symptom of fracture is pain, there may also be loss of functionality of the affected area. The treatment of fractures often involves resetting the affected bone and immobilizing it in a cast in order to allow it to heal overtime. Treatment may also involves surgery or usage of metal rod to rest the bone. One can prevent fracture by eating adequate amount of calcium and vitamin D, exercising several times a week and by preventing fall.
