A train travels at a constant rate of 45 miles per hour.
a. what is the distance, d, in miles, that the train travels in t hours?
b. how many miles will it travel in 2.5 hours?

Respuesta :

A. You just set up the equation so that it is 45d because that's how far the train travels
B. I am more sure I got this one correct, so please double check the first (variables can be a little confusing sometimes :P
If the train travels 45 miles in one hour (which it does) Then it travels 90 in two hours. Then, to figure out what the train travels in a half hour, you simply divide 45 by 2 leaving you with 22.5. Lastly, you add the 22.5 to the 90 to get the total miles in 2.5 hours. The final answer is 112.5.

Hoped this helped! P.S a thanks or brainliest answer would be appreciated a lot. :D
distance = speed * time

a. in  t hours the train travels 45t miles.  d = 45t

b. in 2.5 hrs it travels 45 * 2.5 =  112.5 miles
