and runs 5-kilometer races. Explain which type of respiration the muscle cells in each runner’s legs use.

Respuesta :

anaerobic respiration - products are lactic acid and energy

The type of respiration the muscle cells use is anaerobic respiration.

Anaerobic respiration occurs in the absence of oxygen.

The muscle functions during activities such as running and the cells need

energy which is why anaerobic respiration is done. This helps to provide the

cells of the runner's legs with less amount of energy although in a faster

manner than aerobic respiration.

The anaerobic respiration which takes place in muscle cells provide lactic

acid as its by-product.
