For a slave, it would be, (excuse my french) hell. They were chained really tightly to beds, and they were all squeezed in to small spaces. They weren't given much to eat, and probably didn't have much time to clean themselves up, so they all probably smelled.

A Slave ship was a large cargo ship that was used to transport African slaves from West Africa to America.
The slave ship that carried the slaves had very bad conditions. Diseases were prevalent due to the lack of sanitations. These diseases includes small pox, dysentery, and fever.
Several types of these ships were specially built to move these slaves from West Africa. One of such ship was the schooner Clotilda.
