the u.s military made it a priority torescuse Jews in concentration camps
The statement that describes the U.S. reaction to the "final solution" is the one that says the U.S. government took little action to prevent Nazis from killing Jews.
The American response to the Holocaust was neither quick nor direct. The government was more concerned with stopping the Japanese advance in the Pacific than in what the Nazis did in Europe.
In turn, the incursions into Europe and North Africa had strategic, not humanitarian, objectives. The objectives were set with the aim of weakening the Axis, not for the purpose of helping the peoples subjugated by the Holocaust.
While it is true that the Holocaust ended thanks to the participation of the Allies, it is also true that it was a consequence of the defeat of the Axis, not a primary objective.
