Here is your answer:
1. As you can see both fractions have the same denominator 5/8 and 2/8 so if you wanted to split a pie you would see that 5/8 is greater since how there is more pieces so....
" [tex] \frac{5}{8} \geq \frac{2}{8} [/tex] "
2. In order to solve fractions you have to find the common denominator then add but since how both denominators are the same you can just add the numerators.
" [tex] \frac{5}{8} +\frac{2}{8} = \frac{7}{8} [/tex] "
