The Adena culture occupied the territories of what today is Indian, Ohio, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. It was a pre-Columbian Indian culture that lived from 1000 to 200 BC. They were people that knew agriculture practices, pottery and were very good traders.

The Hopewell culture lived from 100 BCE to 500 CE, in Western New York. They developed an extensive trade network in many regions of the territory, that ran from the Northeast to the Southeastern territories.
