An amoeba is a protozoan that moves by the use of pseudopods (false feet) by shaping its cell membrane according to the desired movement. The amoeba can also ingest food by the formation of endosomes by endocytosis or phagocytosis. The amoeba can also transport materials within the cell because of the presence of microtubules. In other words, the amoeba can perform these functions because it is a eukaryotic cell with many functional organelles.
