Respuesta :

Cuban-U.S. relations have developed over centuries to turn from relatively close and cordial relations to today where the U.S. still retains an economic embargo against the small island nation. Cuba used to be within the American sphere of influence, but drastically shifted with the Cuban Revolution and Fidel Castros rise to power. Also the Bay of Pigs Invasion by the CIA, which was an attempt to overthrow Castro greatly deteriorated relations between the two nations. The Cuban Missile Crisis was also a major point of conflict between the two nations when Cuba allowed for Soviet missiles to be placed on the island that almost led to a nuclear conflict between the two superpowers.
