The shays rebellion, led by Daniel shays, erupted between 1786-1787 in Massachusetts. The cause of the revolt was money. Or the lack of money.

The Say’s Rebellion was a farmer’s rebellion that erupted after that farmer that fought in the Revolutionary War received little compensation and were demanded immediate payment, some of them were even arrested.

Farmers first proposed reforms but after it did not have any effect, some of them blocked judges from entering the courthouse. The name of the Rebellion comes from Daniel Shay that was a farmer that became the leader of the rebellion.
