Someone who is against multiculturalism might say that when you accept cultural diversity, you are denigrating the values of your own culture. Such people would think that multiculturalism politicizes education by calling into question everything that has been studied in their education system for generations. An opponent of multiculturalism might say that a multicultural education is liberal and that it turns every issue into a political argument. Those who are in favor of accepting diverse cultures as part of their own might say that we are all on the same earth. With the ease of travel and the internet, how could we not intermingle our cultures and be accepting of the diversity in the world? They might ask why we would want to limit ourselves to our own little corner of the world, studying only literature from our own culture, knowing only our own language.
