Trevor makes a scale drawing of a doghouse that he is building. The scale he uses is 1in :0.4 what is the actual area of the floor of the doghouse if the dimensions on the scale drawing are 8in by 10in

So, every one inch in the real dog house would be equal to .4 on the scale drawing.

So,

8/.4= 20

10/.4= 25

So, the dog house is 20 by 25 inches.

The question asked for the area.

20*25= 500

The real dog house has an area of 500 in^2.
