Let's take [tex]3 \times 2[/tex] for example. [tex]3 \times 2[/tex] is when you add 3 for a total of 2 times. 3 + 3 = 6. You can also say that [tex]3 \times 2[/tex] is when you add 2 for a total of 3 times. 2 + 2 + 2 = 6.
So 15 [tex]\times[/tex] 3 = 45.
15 + 15 + 15 = 45
and
3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 +3 +3 = 45.
