Respuesta :

I see this as the difference in their current years is 12, and the difference between the number of years they both age in human years is 3, so after 4 human years they become the same age.

This question is based on the concept of graphical method. Therefore, In 4 years,  human years will both pets be the same age in their respective types of years.

Given:

Your dog is 16 years old in dog years.

Your cat is 28 years old in cat years.

For every human year, your dog ages by 7 dog years and your cat ages by 4 cat years.

Let x be the no. of human yrs.

We have to find x such that age is same for dog and cat in their respective year i.e.

16 + 7x = 28 + 4x

Write above equation as follows and solve it graphically,

y = 16 + 7x

y = 28 + 4x

From the graph, it is observe that. Attachment is below.

Point of intersection is (4, 44). Thus, solution of equation is x =4.

Now put the value x = 4 in  equation 16 + 7x = 28 + 4x.

We get,

16 + 7(4) = 28 + 4(4)

44 = 44

Therefore, In 4 years,  human years will both pets be the same age in their respective types of years.
