Seasonal wind patterns that cause wet and dry seasons are called Monsoons (D). A monsoon is a seasonal change in the direction of the prevailing winds of a region. Monsoons are associated with regions that border the Indian Ocean. They also alway blow from cold to hot regions and determine the climate for most of India and Southeast Asia. The summer monsoon is associated with heavy rainfall. It occurs between April and September. Warm moist air blows from the southwestern Indian ocean towards India, Sri Lanka, and other Asian countries.
