displacement can be regarded as the straight line distance between two points, and we know that straight lines are the shortest distance between any two points if we limit us to the eucledean plane , in non-eucledean plane the shortest distance between 2 points is not a straight line, therefore in non-eucledean plane we may have displacement i.e greater than the distance traveled BUT in our everyday experience WE WILL NOT HAVE DISPLACEMENT > DISTANCE

In any geometry that you'll ever learn before college, displacement is never greater than distance.
