Lungs EXCHANGE GASES WITH THE BODY'S BLOOD.
Man has two lungs and they are found in the chest cavity area of the body. The principal function of the lungs is to provide oxygen gas to the capillaries so that they can carry the oxygen to the blood. When the oxygen get to the red blood cell component of the blood it is pumped around the whole body in order to supply the oxygen to all the cells in the body. Without oxygen the body cells will die.
