A radio waves transfer data between a cell phone and a cell phone tower. This data may include audio, video, texts etc.In reality the cell phone works two way. It sends out radio wave signals and also receives radio wave signals with the help of a transmitter and a receiver respectively. The signal sent from the cell phone is converted to electrical signal and then it is trasmitted through the radio wave. when a signal is coming back to the cell phone, the electrical energy coming with the help of radio waves get converted to sound again. this is the basic working theory of the cell phone or mobile phone.
