Let's assume

number of tenors is x

total number of students =90

2/5 of the singers are sopranos

so, total number of sopranos are

[tex] =\frac{2}{5} *90 [/tex]

1/3 are altos

so, total number of altos are

[tex] =\frac{1}{3} *90 [/tex]

we know that

total number of sopranos + total number of altos +total number of tenors = total number of student

we get

[tex] \frac{2}{5} *90+\frac{1}{3} *90 +x=90 [/tex]

now, we can solve for x

[tex] 36+30 +x=90 [/tex]

[tex] 66+x=90 [/tex]

[tex] x=24 [/tex]

Hence ,

number of tenors is 24.............Answer
