Jerome is the president of his school’s Family, Career, and Community Leaders club, or FCCLA. The community service committee is trying to plan their annual project. Jerome told each member to come up with three ideas for a project and share them at the next meeting. At the meeting, Jerome had each committee member share their ideas with the group. After each member shared, Jerome told the group what his three favorite ideas were. Then he held a secret ballot and instructed each group member to write their favorite choice out of the three on a sheet of paper, fold it in half, and put their vote in a bowl. He counted the votes and announced the winning idea. Some committee members were upset because even though they voted on the final decision, they did not get to participate in deciding which three choices got voted on.
