The principle of State's Rights was discussed during the creation of the US Constitution in 1787. It was one of the most important debates held by the delegates. Many delegates believed in the necessity of a federal government but not so powerful that could hurt the interest of the states. They consider that the federal government should have limits and not interfere so much in the state's issues.
