Those are:
- Ultraviolet light, and
- Visible light.
Those forms of lights that penetrate the greenhouse generate heat which is infrared light.
The infrared light (heat) cannot penetrate either the glass of the greenhouse or greenhouse gases (in the atmosphere) but they are trapped. This is the cause of the increase of temperature known as greenhouse effect.
The main gases in the Earth's atmosphere that trap the infrared light (heat) are: metane (CH4), water vapor (H2O), and CO2. They are called greenhouse gases.
