When the ship docked, I ran toward the gangplank that led outside. Some of the other pirates shouted at me, but I ignored them as I ran. I heard their footsteps behind me. They were chasing me! If I got caught, I would get a good beating. But I didn’t care. I would rather die than spend another minute on that ship.
