There are actually several phenomena that release [tex]CO_2[/tex] into the atmosphere. Some of them are natural phenomena, such as human respiration and the release of [tex]CO_2[/tex] from the oceans. Other phenomena are instead related to human activities, such as deforestation and industrial activities (for instance, burning of fossil fuels).
