So, [tex]\boxed{AC}[/tex] in the problem here is to be considered the (Whole area of this line). [tex]AC[/tex] is the whole thing.
So, what we do in this problem, we do . . .
23.8 ÷ 2 because we need to find what is [tex]AB[/tex], so we will find the one half of it, which in this illustration is to be considered [tex]AB[/tex]
23.8 ÷ 2 = [tex]\boxed{11.9}[/tex]
[tex]\boxed{AB=11.9}[/tex]
