A rectangle has whole number side lengths that are greater than 1 inch. Is the area of this rectangle a prime or composite number? Explain?

Respuesta :

It would be a composite number. A prime number is defined as a number that can be divisible only by 1 and itself. If the length of any of the sides of the rectangle are any number other than 1, then it must also be divisible by that number - therefore the figure of the area cannot be a prime number.
