Lucretia Mott (1793-1880) was one of the leading voices of the abolitionist and feminist movements of her time. Raised in a Quaker community, she became a member of the society’s ministry and adopted its anti-slavery views. Mott helped form the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society in 1833, and later was among the founders of the American women’s rights movement. Mott’s feminist philosophy was outlined in her Discourse on Women (1850), in which she argued for equal economic opportunity and voting rights. After helping to establish Swarthmore College in 1864, she served as head of the American Equal Rights Association.

Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton greatly impacted the American society by giving freedom to the women.

Role of Susan B. Anthony

In 1851,  Susan B. Anthony played a key role in organizing an anti-slavery convention in Rochester. Anthony collected petitions against slavery and resists against the new government that prohibited anti-slavery petitions in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Role of Lucretia Mott

Lucretia Mott main contribution in decrying the 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution for granting the vote to black men but not to women.

Role of Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Elizabeth Cady Stanton addressed on the topics of maternity, child rearing, divorce law, property rights, temperance, abolition, and presidential campaigns. She also opposed the 14th and 15th amendments to the US Constitution, which gave voting rights to black men but not to women.
