Everything that happens to a person during their life, including what will happen in the future, is considered their destiny, especially when it is thought to be governed by someone or something else.
Thus, someone should agree with the statement because we have a say in what we do, whether positive or negative.
Thoughts on Fatalism?
People are never prone to fatalism; even those who feel that their fate is solely in their hands can occasionally blame their bad luck on their bad luck to boost their self-esteem. Fatalism, bolstered by religion and a slew of prejudices and beliefs, played an even bigger part in the lives of Medieval people, as Chaucer's Monk's Tale illustrates.
The Monk expresses openly that Fortune is the force that can drive one off the top of the world into a pit of sorrow, having become convinced by a series of coincidences that Fortune guides people's lives and predetermines every single occurrence in people's life.
Aside from the Monk, who has all of the characteristics of a normal fatalist blown to cosmic proportions, the Knight portrays a person who utilizes common sense to assess the role of fate in his life rather than mindlessly adopting the concept of fatalism.
