NEED HELP!!!
You earn $10 per hour working as a manager at a grocery store. You are required to work at the grocery store at least 8 hours per week. You also teach music lessons for $15 per hour. You need to earn at least $120 per week, but you do not want to wok more than 20 hours per week.
Write a system of linear inequalities that represents the situation. Use x for hours worked at the grocery store and y for hours teaching music lessons.

Respuesta :

M = 10x M = 15y

You can work 8 hours a week witch makes 80$ and work 3 hours at the music program

The system of linear inequalities that represents situation is,

                                   [tex]x+y\leq 20\\\\10x+15y\geq 120\\\\x\geq 8[/tex]

Let us assume that, x hours work at grocery store and y hours work at music lesson.

       Since, we have not work to more than 20 hours.

So,  inequality represents,   [tex]x+y\leq 20[/tex]

Earning at grocery store = $10 per hour

For x hours, earning = 10x

Earning at music lesson = $15 per hour

for y hours, earning = 15y

Total earning = 10x + 15y

Since, We have to  earn at least $120 per week,

Inequality represents,    [tex]10x+15y\geq 120[/tex]

Therefore, the system of linear inequalities that represents situation is,

                                   [tex]x+y\leq 20\\\\10x+15y\geq 120\\\\x\geq 8[/tex]
