0.45>[tex] \frac{2}{5} [/tex]
Normally with this type of question it wants us to convert both the numbers into fractions with the same denominators in order to see which is bigger. So if we convert 0.45 from a decimal to a fraction then we get 45/100 and simplify it down to 9/20. Multiply the 5 (from the 2/5) by 4 because 20 (from the 9/20) divided by 5 = 4. We obviously get 20 so we now have the same denominators. Next we do the same with the numerator of 2/5 so 2 x 4 = 8 and if we put the denominator and numerator together to get 8/20. We can now see that 9/20 is larger than 8/20. However in the question you would have to put 0.45 is bigger than 2/5. :)
