1. Tetracycline should not be given to pregnant women because it affects the unborn child.
2. Tetracycline discolors teeth. It makes the teeth which were white to turn into yellow color permanently.
3. It should not be given to children who are under the age of eight years because it sunburns easily and brings kidney problem.
Tetracycline can also treat plaque, syphilis, cholera, and acne. Its work is to block the ability of bacteria to make proteins.
