This animal species is native of Artic tundra biome located in the North America. These animals are adapted to survive in harsh winter conditions. They exhibit adaptations like small ears to minimize the surface area to volume ratio (less surface area will prevent the loss of heat), they have thick fur which is highly insulating, fur on the paws to provide them insulation and increase grip in otherwise slippery surface of ice, and thick layer of body fat keeps the body insulated against harsh external winter environment.
