Respuesta :

Option D. Similes are often used to add depth or emphasize what author is trying to convey to the reader. Authors use simile for various reasons but one of the most obvious reason is because they're trying to create a lasting impression in the readers' minds. That being said, an epic simile, also called Homeric simile, are elaborate comparisons between two different objects, usually running into several lines and used to intensify the status quo of the subject. These type of similes are very common with authors like Bunyan, Homer, Anslem etc who would often very figurative. Epic similes are quite elaborate and will often run into many lines.
