Huck has given up on saying his prayers lately. He no longer sees the point in praying because his prayers are not being answered. He prays every night and wakes up in the morning hoping the day will bring answered prayers in his favor. As the day progresses he comes to realize his prayers have not been answered so he decided he will no longer pray.
