Peninsulas are places that are connected to the Asian continent but are coastal on the other half of the country. Archipelagos are groups of islands and there are many of them in the South East Asia region, with many having their own sovereignty and status as independent states. Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam are on a peninsula, while the other ones are on islands.
