In most cases, presidents want to expand their term in the presidency because they have not finished all their proposals or are running. it is so they ask to extend their mandates by vote or a law, although this can be counterproductive for the country.
As in Latin America, many presidents have expanded their powers and stayed for more than 10 years turning a democracy into a dictatorship.
