The narrator of ‘The Outsiders’ is named Ponyboy Curtis, a
14-year-old boy. The story is set in his perspective and you see the events
unfold in his point of view. He exposes all his imperfections throughout the
story giving the reader a clear description of his environment. His
surroundings is full of crimes, alcoholic drinks, and violence which helped him
to mature.
My understanding of the narrator added suspense to the story
because I feel nervous and anxious for Ponyboy that I hope he will survive that
kind of environment.
