Since Gandhi helped India become a free country from British rule and occupation, it would not make sense for him to want Indians to migrate elsewhere, as he wanted to better the lives of Indians by becoming an independent nation. He was a strong advocate for women's rights, and had a desire to ease tensions among the diverse ethnic and religious groups in India.
