The distribution property is a property where you simplify an equation or expression by distributing a variable or number outside a set of parenthesis and multiply it inside the parenthesis. It can only be done if the variables inside the parenthesis cannot be further combined.
For example,
2(x + 4)
Since you can't combine the x and the 4 inside the parenthesis, you distribute the 2 into the parenthesis and multiply it by x and 4.
2*x + 2*4
Now, we can just simplify this:
2x + 8
2x + 8 would be the simplest form.
