A rectangle is 7 feet long by 2 feet wide. If 2 feet are added to the length of the rectangle, what would be the area, in square feet, of the new rectangle?

To find the area of the new rectangle, we need to add 2 to the length, and find the area. 

7 + 2 = 9

9 * 2 = 18

The new area of the rectangle is 18 square feet.
