Diabetes is a disease where there is too much sugar in the blood. Type 1 Diabetes is where the pancreas does not produce enough insulin. Risk factors, which are anything that increases your chance of getting a disease, for Type 1 are mostly unknown, but it is usually diagnosed as a child. Type 2 Diabetes is where the body has a difficult time processing glucose .Risk factors for Type 2 are being over 45, overweight, having a parent or sibling with Type 2 Diabetes, being inactive and being African American, Hispanic/Latino American, or American Indian.
