I took the FLVS test earlier; Part One and Part Two:
Earth has a lower average temperature than the moon. Although, some might think that the earth has a higher average temperature because the earth is hot. Yet, the moon has far more avaerage temperature than the earth because the earths atmosphere blocks the suns radiation from directly hiting it. Also, the moon doesn't have a atmosphere to keep away the suns radiation.
Between the earth and the moon we have that the highest temperature is the moon, because it blocks the sun from the earth causing it to heat up more.
How is the average temperature of the planet measured?
The average temperature of the planet is measured through the variation of the temperature of the sea waters. Scientists and researchers emit low-frequency sound waves through the deepest waters of the Pacific Ocean. There are strategic listening points at various locations on the other side of the Pacific that pick up these sounds.
What is the average temperature of the moon?
The Moon has no atmosphere, so temperatures range from -184 degrees Celsius at night to 214 degrees Celsius during the day, with the exception of the poles where the temperature is constantly -96 degrees Celsius.
Earth has a lower average temperature than the moon. The moon has far more average temperature than the earth because the earths atmosphere blocks the suns radiation from directly hiting it.
