Andrew Jackson won a major victory over the Red Sticks, who were a faction of the the Creek Native American tribe who were fighting against the American expansion in the Mississippi region during 1814. The British and Spanish also provided arms to the Creeks, as they also opposed the expansion of America. Spain feared and encroachment of their territories in the Americas by the US and the British were still dismayed by the US breaking away from the British crown.
