if Cochlea is damaged due to continuous exposure to loud sound then electrical impulse can't be sent to brain. it results into hearing loss.
Continued exposure to very loud sound can result in hearing loss. Hearing loss is due to the damaged hair cells in the cochlea which no longer send electrical impulses in the auditory nerve. Cochlea is a small S-shaped structure which helps in hearing and is a part of inner ear. Damage to cochlea causes permanent hearing loss.
